Another lesson day! This photo is called a "long exposure" even though is was 1/4 of a second because you cannot hold a camera (or cell phone) still that long. It requires a tripod of some sort. Anything longer than 1/10 of a second at sunrise will capture the rays and not just the yellow/orange blob. If you close your eyes for 15 seconds and then open them, you will also see these rays. Many of you take shots with your cell phone. Just get a small tripod like a rubberized spider tripod, put your camera settings in "Pro" mode, play around with the settings and remember to set a delay of a second or two so that the movement of you pressing the shutter button does not shake the phone.
